Freebees is the result of a collaboration between Ken Villeneuve and Philippe Londei, two young entrepreneurs with innovative and complementary ideas! Then Pierre Gaudreault, a finance and business administration expert, invested in the adventure. The idea emerged by noting the major gaps in the loyalty market and available reward programs. With the idea of creating a tool that would be truly beneficial for both companies and consumers, the team hired its Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Hassen Khalifa. This is where our little story began to be written (or rather to be coded).

In 2015, they met Paul Da Costa, who would become the franchisee in charge of developing the Outaouais region. The results are conclusive and the chemistry between Paul and the members of the Freebees team is so good that he will later become a shareholder and partner of the company where he now occupies the position of Vice-President of Business Development. 2014

The team is proud to be retained by the Microsoft Bizspark program. Microsoft BizSpark was a Microsoft program that provided free support and licenses to selected innovative entrepreneurs and start-ups to develop their platform.


After launching the very first version of its Program at merchants, Freebees is unveiling its mobile applications on iOS and Android for consumers and businesses.

2015

An important year in the company development since it was during this year that it will integrates with its first Point of Sale (POS) software in the restaurant industry.

2016

Following the results obtained in the field, Freebees continues its development and integrates Point of Sale (POS) software for the retail, food and electronic ticketing sectors. New and unique tools to improve the shopping and communication experience between business and the consumer are also added to the platform, notably, gift cards.

2017

A new market opens to Freebees while a 1st University now using Freebees as a Payment method for all its services on campus.

2018

Still with the objective of continuing its expansion and opening new markets, Freebees begins to integrate main E-Commerce platforms.

2019

After several years of research and development in the field to constantly improve its product, it is in 2019 that Freebees takes off and positions itself on the market. In addition to the addition of a “prepaid card” function which allows secondary school cafeterias to offer a simple and secure payment solution, Freebees is taking its first steps towards the international market by joining the accelerator Euratechnologies / https://idgatineau.ca/actualites/2019-quebec-montreal-europe/

2020

2020 marks the official launch of Freebees as an alternative electronic money in large centers and gets a makeover by unveiling a new logo and a redefined brand image!

2021

During 2021 and 2022, the pandemic raged and Freebees established itself as an effective and sustainable solution to stimulate local purchasing and worked in collaboration with numerous municipalities and other organizations to help merchants.

2023

Freebees is having a meteoric rise with a 34% increase in the number of merchants using its services and 24% increases in the number of consumers subscribing to the rewards program in 2023 and 2024 as well.

2024

Freebees is selected as a strategic partner for the Promoting Quebec Products: Supporting Retail Businesses project. With financial support from the Government of Quebec, the Regroupement des SDC du Québec is pleased to support retail businesses and promote products verified by Les Produits du Québec through the Freebees rewards program. This project has helped promote Quebec products, raise awareness of buying locally, and support retail businesses by increasing their sales and improving the customer experience. It is also part of a digital transition process aimed at modernizing business practices in Quebec.

2025

At the end of 2024, Freebees expands its development and sales team and increase strategic partnerships and integrations in 2025 to enable the implementation of its business solutions in as many businesses as possible.
